MIND
Mental Skills Training is for you if you:
-
Feel pre-performance anxiety
-
Choke at big events
-
Struggle to bounce back after disappointments or mistakes
-
Fear failure
-
Notice a difference between how you practice vs. how you compete
We all know there is a mental component to competing but we don't necessarily know how to train it.
Mental skills must be trained through intentional practice and repetition, just like physical skills. Ty aids his clients in training mental skills such as:
-
Directing focus to a distracted mind
-
Emotional regulation, especially with pre-performance anxiety
-
Becoming mentally tough
-
Confidence
-
Maintaining composure in a stressful environment
-
Dealing with failure and disappointment
-
Identify the values and traits necessary for a life consistent with running to the edge of their personal capacity.
As a former #9 heeler in team roping and his experience professionally rodeoing with his wife for 9 years, Ty's personal experience is in the western performance and rodeo industry. He has worked alongside:
-
Several National Finals Rodeo qualifiers
-
Rodeo contestants in every event
-
Football players
-
Golfers
-
Bowlers
-
Shooters
Coaching isn't just for the athlete...
As a spouse to world class competitor and a coach to many young people, he also understands the perspective of those who are in a supportive role to a competitor like a spouse or parent. Ty has also worked with those who find themselves in these sometimes challenging roles of trying to offer help and support to their athlete without overstepping the boundaries of the relationship.
